Bereits am Freitag, 28. August, wurden die Gamescom Awards 2026 verliehen. Als die großen Gewinner gehen sowohl Sega als auch CD Projekt Red hervor – mit jeweils drei Auszeichnungen. Das Remaster von The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sowie das neue DLC „Songs of the Past“ erhielten die Consumer-Awards in den Kategorien „Bester Trailer“ und „Bestes Merchandise“. Die Jury zeichnete den Messeauftritt zudem als „Best Booth“ (bester Stand) aus.
Sega durfte sich bei mehreren Spielen über Auszeichnungen freuen. So holte sich der Publisher in der Kategorie „Bestes Audiodesign“ den Preis für die Rückkehr des Xenomorphen in „Alien: Isolation 2“. Das Spiel „Total War: Warhammer 40.000“ gewann als bestes PC-Spiel. Das vielzeitige Angebot von Sega überzeugte zudem als „Bestes Line-up.“
Weitere Preise gingen unter anderem an Capcoms „Onimusha: Way of the Sword“ (Bestes Gameplay sowie Bestes Spiel für die Playstation) und Ubisoft für „Ubisoft Business Lounge“ und „Rayman Legends Retold“ als bestes Spiel für die Switch 2.
